Kurt Goodjohn

FOUNDING PARTNER

A Calgary native, Kurt graduated from Union College in NY with a BSc in Computer and Electrical Engineering. Following various positions in microelectronics, sustainable technologies and business management, Kurt and his brother Kris channeled their collective passion for green building and smart home design into a firm commitment to modular residential construction, founding Karoleena Homes in 2005. Kurt’s multiple roles as CEO include everything from business development and stakeholder collaboration to product development and company growth.

Kris Goodjohn

FOUNDING PARTNER

Also born and raised in Calgary, Kris graduated from Union College with a B.A. in Economics. Following a successful professional hockey career and the birth of his daughter Karoleena, Kris made the leap into residential building alongside Kurt, applying his innate design and construction knowledge towards evolving the method in which Canadians build their homes. As the overseer of all design, estimation and construction at Karoleena Homes, Kris plays a paramount, hands-on role in the outcome of each and every project.

Kelly Doody

DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING

A third-generation Calgarian with a B.A. in Marketing and Communications under her belt, Kelly has worked as a retail and real estate communications consultant and small business owner in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Calgary. At Karoleena, Kelly is charged with overseeing all marketing, communications and PR efforts, brand equity growth and an expansive network of sales
representatives, while coordinating small to large-scale projects from inception to completion.

Kamal Yalbir  BFA, M.Arch

DIRECTOR OF DESIGN

A graduate of the University of Calgary’s EVDS – Architecture program, Kamal has been expertly designing residential and commercial spaces for more than a decade. With a passion for modular construction and a talent for highly innovative design, Kamal delivers exceptional creative design services in both a one-on-one client setting and on a broad, conceptual scale. As Karoleena’s resident Design Director, Kamal is a big believer in designing for the everyday, be it single-family homes, multi-family projects or large-scale international developments.

Tucker Braund

PLANNING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Another Calgary native, Tucker brings a wealth of knowledge & enthusiasm for intelligent urban design & the modular home building process to Karoleena. When not dreaming up innovative inner-city development concepts alongside the Karoleena crew or enjoying the good life at his Karoleena Cabin in Invermere, BC, Tucker can be found tackling his Environmental Land Use Planning degree at Northern Arizona University, where he captains the men’s varsity hockey team.
